Bobbie Ritacco, board member of OII and cherished friend of many of us in OII, passed away April 2nd at her home in Littleton, Colorado. She was born May 1st 1960 in Cheyenne Wyoming on the FE Warren Air Force Base.
Bobbie lived in Cheyenne until the age of 7 and then the family moved to Leadville, Colorado where she attended elementary and high school. After graduating from high school Bobbie worked at the Climax mine before entering the US Air Force in 1978. She was honorably discharged 8 years later and returned to Denver, Co. where she met Ann Schroer in 1984 whom she married in February 1986.
Bobbie worked in the IT field with Martin Marietta, JD Edwards, and IBM, then went back to school in the nursing field and completed her degree as a LPN. She was employed by the State of Colorado Department of Corrections, Boulder County Corrections, and was employed by the State of Colorado Wheat Ridge Regional Center at the time of her death.
Bobbie enjoyed all outdoor sports and spending time riding motorcycles with Ann and the American Legion Riders. She gave of her free time to many different organizations. 8 years at the National Western Stock show, 7 years at Friends of NRA banquets. 5 years with the Gender Identity Center of Colorado, holding the position of President and board member and a member of the American Legion: Post 178
Her survivors include her wife, Ann Ritacco at the family home, her mother and stepfather, Ellen and Robert Ritacco, 1 sister Angelina (John ) Sanchez, 2 brothers Matthew (Cindy) Ritacco and Robert Lynn Ritacco along with several nieces and nephew.
Funeral Mass was held at Light Of The World Catholic Church on April 20th at 3:00pm. A potluck reception followed.
