The information on OII web sites includes discussions about emotional and medical health issues such as intersex, Gender Identity Disorder, depression, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and others: These are officially and legally defined medical and/or psychiatric conditions and you are advised to consult a qualified therapist before embarking on any dramatic life changes.

COUNSELING:

OII and A Kindred Spirit, which it is hosting, provide outreach service working in partnership with other organisations in many different parts of the world. We are not counselors, pastoral members or clinical therapists, unless indicated as such and any contact with a therapist who is also part of OII is a relationship between the client and therapist and not officially part of OII’s service. Our service is to provide educational and informative materials and peer support. You must consider their comments, suggestions and information as advice provided from their lives. We do not provide medical or psychiatric counseling but support and education as requested.

PRIVACY:

Web statistics such as number of visitors, browsers used, etc. are gathered in raw logs for the purpose of determining how best to serve viewers. OII does not gather information that might allow us to determine the identity of individual users as a general rule. If someone attempts to hack this site, however, IP address information will be logged for legal purposes.

LIABILITY:

OII’s sites contain educational information on intersex, transsexuality and gender issues, providing educational and factual information from many different perspectives and from different viewpoints. Since consensus is not established in many of these areas, we take no responsibility for conflicting opinions and personal advice but refer all visitors to qualified professionals of their choosing to help them sort through the information provided. We are simply educating and informing the public about the diversity of opinion among experts in these areas and allowing individuals to express their personal opinions. OII and/or its agents will not be responsible for any damages or injuries that accompany or result from your use of our site or the information contained in these pages. Letters written to the Organisation Intersex International (OII) address become the property of A Kindred Spirit / OII. We may publish all our part of your letter, but we will not publish your e-mail address or your full name unless you are a recognized leader in the community or you ask us, or we receive permission to do so. We will keep identifying details of any e-mail confidential. We will not publish any e-mail or letter if you request that we do not publish it in the body of said e-mail / Letter. Such a request for exclusion must be clearly stated.
