Introduction:
Hontas Farmer is a 28-year-old Chicago-area resident who identifies as a Muslim, Republican, physicist, “homosexual transsexual” and sex worker. A self-declared friend of conservative Northwestern University psychology professor J. Michael Bailey, Hontas is the latest attention-craving eccentric to be exploited by the Clarke/Northwestrn clique of reactionary sexologists.
In 2007, Hontas was the most prolific contributor to the transkids.us forum, posing as a “homosexual transsexual” in efforts to prop up Blanchard’s theory of transsexualism. The transkids.us website was created by Alice Dreger’s associate Kiira Triea, and at the time Dreger was extolling transkids.us in her defense of Bailey, Blanchard and Lawrence.
Unfortunately for Dreger, the transkids.us website has since been exposed as a hoax. Nevertheless, Hontas was lavished with attention by the Clarke/Northwestern crowd for her contributions to that hoax, even though it didn’t work out for Dreger and Bailey.
Hontas then went on to collaborate with James Cantor (a paid staff member at CAMH, aka ‘The Clarke Institute’), assisting Cantor in his rampage of wikipedia page construction, page hacking and edit-warring. Their effort focuses on posting new pages that extol the work of Zucker, Bailey, Blanchard, Lawrence and Dreger – and trashing the wikipedia biographies of ZBBLD critics. We will be linking to evidence of that edit-warring soon.
Hontas’ activities now appear aimed at supporting the overall “DSD movement” in sexology – i.e., the medicalization and pathologization of intersex and transgender identities being pushed by Zucker, Dreger and Cantor. For background on that movement, see the open letter by OII to WPATH.
Who is Hontas Farmer?
Upon witnessing Hontas’ activities, we sought intersex and transgender community input regarding Hontas’ background. Hontas is well-known for unusual behavior in the Chicago area, as discussed in the file below, and the accumulated evidence reveals a very disturbing picture.
As we will see, Hontas presents as a socially isolated, unstable person of indeterminate gender identity. Widely known from high school days as "the unabomber" for threatening to shoot up the school after being turned down by a girl for the prom, Hontas was arrested and institutionalized – and the police also confiscated two firearms from Hontas' house (see appendix).
Since graduation from high school, Hontas appears to have become a perpetual student with no visible means of support. Hontas has constructed a variety of virtual identities on the internet, and uses multiple screen names when engaging in BBL support. Hontas has also surreptitiously gained access into the home of one of Bailey’s critics – later bragging about it in an online post – and used a Muslim burqa to remain incognito when following another Bailey critic.
We are very concerned about this exploitation and encouragement of yet another unstable person by Bailey, et al as they strive to defame their trans critics. This is incredibly irresponsible behavior, for they must surely see the risks involved to Hontas and to Hontas’ targets.
In the meantime, we are posting this report as an alert about Hontas’ activities, including photos showing Hontas’ identity-concealment methods so that Hontas is more readily recognizable.
Hontas Farmer’s contruction of virtual identities
Claims of being a scientist:
Hontas maintains several bios on the internet, and these are useful sources of information:
As seen in those sites, Hontas claims to be a "scientist" (a "physicist" to be more precise), and in the scientific blogging site claims to be a graduate student in physics at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
However, although Hontas may have gone to UIC at one time and still has a UIC e-mail address (hfarme2@uic.edu), Hontas is not listed among the current physics graduate students there:
In the wikipedia bio, dated 22 July 2006, Hontas claimed to be a DePaul University graduate student expecting a Ph.D. degree in 2010 – listing “Theoretical physics graduate student” as a profession. However, DePaul University does not have a Ph.D. program in physics:
Note that Hontas frequently blogs on the topic of physics, and causes various troubles in that field on wikipedia under the screen-name HFarmer. See for example the following wiki talk page:
In that page you'll find Hontas making proclamations such as the following:

It appears that for some years Hontas has tried to establish an internet identity as a "physicist" by invading physics talk forums and wikipedia rather than by actually doing physics.
On October 17, 2007, Hontas then began posting "The Quantum Gravity Channel" on youtube:

Claims of being a “homosexual transsexual”:
Consider further Hontas's claims of a “transsexual” identity. Here's an example “Quantum Gravity” tutorial (there are more linked-to from this one):
Those videos give a glimpse of Hontas's persona and presentation. They reveal that Hontas has not had any significant electrolysis. Hontas has visible masculine facial hair, and doesn't conceal a five-o'clock shadow with makeup (see photos below). This is unusual for someone claiming to be MtF "transsexual", because facial hair removal is of the highest priority for most such women.
Hontas also reveals that J. Michael Bailey is Hontas’ friend in this link:
Thus it’s no surprise that Hontas promotes the highly pathologizing BBL two-type theoretical model of transsexualism. Hontas self-identifies as being of the "homosexual transsexual" type, basing this on claims of extreme femininity since childhood, great beauty, etc. However, this claim appears to be inconsistent with observable evidence such as Hontas's presentation (as in the following photos and the video links above and below).
Hontas also continues to use the male name (the birth name was Hontas F. Farmer III). Hontas has not discussed a reason for this, although some observers suspect that the Illinois courts will not let Hontas change name because of the criminal record (a common stipulation in many states).
Hontas is also aroused by very attractive young nonwhite transwomen and considers them peers. Those women openly mock Hontas, whom like Bailey they consider to be a crossdressing tranny-chaser. The following pages contain evidence of that open ridicule:
Claims of being a sex worker:
Hontas also likes to pretend at being a sex worker and uses the screen name ‘BrendaQG’ for that purpose. This was also the name Hontas used on the transkids.us forum (the hoax website exploited by BBL to prop up Blanchard’s theory).

Claims of political affiliation and claimed aspirations for public office:
Hontas identifies as a Republican in Hontas’ wikipedia bio.
In November 2008, Hontas discussed running for Congress on the hungangels.com website, under the screen name “BrendaQG, a Hot HungAngel”.
Many question whether HF’s arrest record and Muslim transsexual prostitute claims would go over well with Republican voters.

When searching for information about Hontas Farmer, it is important to note that Hontas has used multiple online aliases and screen names, including the following:

Hontas’ Fixation on critics of the BBL model of transsexualism:
With that as background, Hontas has gone on to become an agent for the Clarke/Northwestern BBL clique of sexologists, and Hontas's behavior has since become a bit intimidating.
For example, while snooping for information about Deirdre McCloskey, Hontas was able to surreptitiously gain entry into Deirdre's condo when Deirdre was out of the country.
Hontas then openly bragged about that accomplishment on Hontas’ blog - in which Hontas characterized Deirdre's interior decorations as being 'masculine', positioning that observation as ‘evidence’ for later use against Deirdre – and that blog begins to reveal we're dealing with here.

Hontas didn't stop with Deirdre. Hontas then attempted to extract information from “Juanita,” the trans woman who filed a complaint against Northwestern psychologist J. Michael Bailey.
Hontas approached Juanita at the Transgender Day of Remembrance Vigil on Nov. 16, 2009 at Center on Halsted, wearing a burqa and claiming to be a Muslim transsexual, thereby concealing Hontas’ identity – in what appears to be an effort to extract information from Juanita.
[In one of the above photos we see Hontas wearing a hijab (a Muslim headscarf) with face exposed. However, when approaching Juanita at the vigil Hontas’ burqa was closed except for the eyes - similar to Hontas’ appearance at 1m 14s in this video taken on Thursday, Oct 16, 2008:
Fortunately, Juanita sensed that something was wrong, and didn't encourage Hontas' attempt at befriending her. We believe that Hontas approached Juanita on behalf of Bailey and Alice Dreger (Bailey’s co-worker and defender), who are eager to find out where Juanita lives. They've been looking for Juanita for a long time, perhaps in hopes of intimidating Juanita into silence about the revelations that Bailey had sexual relations with her while she was his research subject. Fortunately Juanita’s real name is a common one, and they haven't figured out where she lives.
Collaboration with James Cantor of CAMH:
After posing as ‘WriteMakesRight’ and ‘MariontheLibrarian’ on Wikipedia while engaging in ongoing edit wars in defense of BBL, James Cantor (a paid CAMH staff member) was outed by his editing patterns and now uses his real name on wikipedia.
Cantor went on to recruit Hontas in the edit wars in defense of BBL – and, for example, we see Cantor grooming Hfarmer in an exchange on his wiki talk page:

Dr Cantor, he and I have already met. In the last year I have peeped him on the streets of the north side neighborhood were he lives. Not to far from the Howard Brown Health Center, where I met him, many years ago. If he remembers me at all it would likely have to be how I derided psychology and psychologist right to his face. Compared it's scientificness unfavorably with that of physics. (I was only going to community college back then yet I was already full of physics chauvinism. I was a real asshole.) Last but not least a certain happening in a support group that I would drop in on at the HBHC which he or a student would sometimes observe... Basically I made one smart remark too many to an older TS...gave her some unsolicited advice...they got verbally physically threatening and he intervened. According to him such was not uncommon. For the older people at such groups to gang up on and chase away the younger. That was back about early-mid 2000. That person, if it wasn't him i'd be surprised. I have no proof to offer other than the circumstance that I live in chicago, and can prove that I was under the care of the Howard Brown Health Center back in those dark ages (T was not all together with LGB and TS's were not part of their mission statement. My how things have changed for the better.)

Hontas’ participation in transkids.us is yet further evidence that participants in that forum would not be described as "homosexual transsexuals" by the proponents of the use of that term, namely by the reactionary sexologists Bailey, Blanchard, Lawrence, Zucker, Cantor and their defender Dreger.

The above information reveals a disturbing picture.
Hontas’s efforts to slip into Deirdre’s condo while Deirdre was away from home and to befriend Juanita while incognito, combined with Hontas's coordination with Cantor on hacking various wikipedia pages, suggest that Hontas has become an important CAMH collaborator in attempts to suppress and discredit critics of J. Michael Bailey and the BBL/Northwestern/CAMH clique.
Given the attention and encouragement that James Cantor is showering on Hontas, we wouldn't be surprised at anything Hontas might do next – especially when considering Hontas’ past record of arrest and institutionalization for threatening to kill people with firearms (see Appendix 1).
Therefore, we would appreciate alerts and information about Hontas’ ongoing activities, especially any following and snooping around the homes of intersex and transgender people who have criticized the pronouncements of Zucker, Dreger, Cantor, Bailey, Blanchard, Lawrence and The Clarke Institute.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested last week and charged with assault after he allegedly made threats against some of his classmates at Proviso West High School in Hillside. Hontas Farmer, 17 of 906 Bellwood Ave., Bellwood, was arrested May 27 after teachers at Proviso West reported they heard him threaten to do harm to other students in association with the school's May 8 prom, said Hillside Deputy Police Chief Frank Alonzo. Police confiscated two rifles from Farmer's house, but the teenager had not taken any type of weapon to school, Alonzo said. After further investigation, Farmer was charged last week with assault for the threat and unlawful use of a weapon because he had no firearm owner's identification card, police said. A Maybrook judge set Farmer's bond at $500,000. Alonzo said this is the only incident of its kind at Proviso West and police, as well as teachers and school administrators, took no chances on whether or not Farmer was serious. Alonzo said the Maybrook judge "took the same philosophy" in setting Farmer's bond so high. The $500,000 "D" bond requires Farmer to post $50,000 bail. Alonzo said the teen apparently was turned down for a prom date and was upset. Alonzo said Farmer's family sought counseling for him after the weapons were confiscated. In light of the recent series of school shootings across the nation, police cannot take any chances on the validity of someone's threat, the deputy chief said. Police have to investigate allegations carefully and consider what's best for the person accused and balance that against the against the safety of others, Alonzo said.

School threats deserve a hard-line response

For the third time in the last few weeks, a Chicago area student has been accused of threatening to kill his classmates. Last week a senior at Proviso West High School was arrested after he allegedly talked about shooting students at a group outing.
Hillside police say a teacher called them after reportedly overhearing Hontas Farmer, 17, making verbal threats.
"There are a number of stories circulating, but it appears as if (Farmer) made these comments after being turned down for the prom," said Deputy Chief Frank Alonzo of the Hillside Police Department.
When police went to the residence where Farmer lives with his mother, they found a .22-caliber rifle and a .33-caliber rifle.
Farmer was arrested and charged with assault and unlawful possession of a weapon. In the Maybrook Courthouse in Maywood on Tuesday, bail was set at $500,000_an unusually high sum for such charges, but perhaps a fitting one in light of the current climate in which school shootings are almost commonplace.
Let the young man sit and think about it for a while.
Although Farmer never brought a gun to school or to any school gathering and there is no hard evidence he intended to follow up on his alleged threat, school authorities and police were taking no chances.
"How can you determine if someone is serious in this day and age?" said Alonzo.
Indeed.
There may have been a time when it could be handled within the school if a kid scribbled a note or made an offhand remark to a classmate about wanting to kill someone. Bring in the guidance counselor, call the parents, levy a suspension and warn the kid that it better not happen again.
Nowadays, you better do all that_after you call the cops.
Students are going to have to learn that talking about wanting to kill someone is tantamount to making a bomb joke in an airport_don't do it unless you're prepared to go to jail. Two years ago there was a rash of stories about various passengers who were detained at O'Hare and Midway airports after making comments about having bombs; then people got the message. Now you hardly ever hear about anyone making such ill-advised remarks.
The Homewood junior high school student who wrote a letter threatening a female classmate and asked fellow students to help him find weapons he could use to harm other girls? Maybe he was just trying to scare or impress people; maybe he was just stricken with a particularly painful case of puppy love. Perhaps all he really needs is some professional counseling.
Doesn't matter. Authorities were right to charge him in a juvenile petition with solicitation to commit first-degree murder and six counts of solicitation to commit aggravated kidnapping.
There's no such thing as too young. That's a lesson we learned from the shootings in Jonesboro, Ark.
The kid from Homewood allegedly was asking classmates to help him obtain "weaponry_blades, guns, explosives, etc.," as the Homewood police put it. It was wise of Markham Branch Juvenile Court Judge Michael W. Stuttley to order the boy held for testing until his next court date, June 9.
This is serious stuff. You can't take any chances.
The same goes for the 15-year-old Hanover Park boy who was charged with conspiracy and murder solicitation after he allegedly talked about shooting students at Glenbard North as they left their classrooms. His attorney said the boy's "reckless talk" was nothing more than a "schoolboy fantasy," but DuPage County State's Attorney Joseph Birkett defended the serious charges, saying, "We acted with the best interest of the community and with the health and welfare of our children in mind."
It's the only possible reaction you can have in 1998.
The majority of kids who fantasize about harming others or even go so far as to verbalize those troubled thoughts_they probably never act out those feelings. But who wants to take the chance that some violent trash-talk won't escalate to actual . . .
