Michelle Bruce is a Native American and a native Georgian, and long time resident of Clayton County. She moved back to the City of Riverdale in 1997. Ms. Bruce served in the United States Military in the US Coast Guard and received a presidential commendation as well other commendations from admirals.
Ms. Bruce continued to further her dedication and served in the Federal Government after her service to her Country with an honorable discharge. Ms. Bruce is single and takes care of her mother; she was self employed as a car repo agent and bounty hunter for over 20 years.
Ms. Bruce has been dedicated in serving her community, LGBT Communities through civil rights, human rights for everyone. She is a member of NAACP, Victory Fund, Georgia Equality, Human Rights Campaign, NCT Equality and TransAction executive board member.
Ms Bruce is also a humanitarian with her relief efforts during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in September, 2005, the City of Riverdale, Georgia, organized a major outreach effort to provide assistance to those victims that arrived in the City of Riverdale and Clayton County and other surrounding counties, with hundreds of evacuees came to the emergency relief center to receive assistance of clothing, food, infant items, medical referrals, and needed services.
Ms. Bruce believes more in a transparent government that’s for the people than not for special interest groups with more diversity and unity for all people and cultures in our communities.
