Introduction
I have a bit of a reputation for being “angry”, mainly because a lot of my writings tend to go for the jugular when it comes to my being intersexed and the way people in the media and the medical profession seem to think that they can pathologize, insult, humiliate and demean people like me.
With all their claptrap about chromosomes and peewee theories I really feel that I need to be blunt about this. I am fed up with people who were “born normal” (Norm-borns) publishing what is tantamount to clinically sanctioned hate literature and then crying foul.
Perhaps I am missing the point when some quack calls my sense of self a “disorder” or when they point at my chromosomes and call me a man. And it is not as if I have been unfair on some of this. I have often said to the people mentioned in this series of articles: “Please, talk about it and we can perhaps settle our differences.” The last round of that consisted of some obnoxious little Der Eigene quack called “Canter” dismissing what I said as being “inappropriate”.
I may be intersexed but today I look at the television listings, to note that there is a comedy about couples having sex and later some documentary about a program written by women for women called “Make me a perfect Vagina”. On the other channel a program about blokes discussing their cars and penile prowess. And this is the natural order I am told. I am abnormal.
Every now and then I am on the internet and come across some religious nutcase going on about how man and woman are the natural order and I am an “abomination”. (I would rather be an abomination that an idolater quite frankly). And if any sporting event takes place, there are even people there who believe that the participants have to be genetically pure men or genetically pure women. I am supposed to accept this. Well I do not. I never did and I never will. The work that follows may upset some people, but then I get pretty upset when being told by those born "superior" to me that I am sub human and must “know my place” when compared to the Dicks and Fannies of this world. So if you are also a target of the “Heterosexist” or “Gender binary” (better still, let’s call it what it is: norm born bullshit), then don’t worry as a sarcastic footnote in gender politics follows and it is called “Radical Interism”.
